At the University of Southern California, he completed his residency in neurosurgery and fellowship in complex spine surgery.

Dr. Taban is a nationally respected neurological and spinal surgeon who has pioneered many surgical techniques. At Northridge Hospital Medical Center, he established the Neuro Trauma Program and served as medical director of the Neuroscience Institute. He is a clinical professor at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Taban earned his medical degree from Tehran University Medical School, followed by a surgical internship at Brown University. He completed his residency in neurosurgery and spine surgery at Bellevue Hospital Center and NYU.
